New Math

I was looking up pretentiousness and art and found this, and laughed and laughed, and then I painted.

Some good stuff there at More New Math. Simple, direct, thought provoking, and funny.
Two thumbs, I have them.

Working For Me

Not too long ago, while I was lamenting on how I felt spread too thin, I was given a mantra.

You need to pick your spot, choose your moment and stick with that, but never give up variety
So, I mulled..
I do that, often, maybe too much, but that's not MY problem.

How do I offer up the best of my abilities and make a seismic ripple?
How do I feed my family without greasing someone else's wheels, as I watch mine go to bare metal?

Where do the best of my abilities lie? Is it writing? Art? Teaching?

Painting is my native language.
Teaching is an ability I am lucky to possess

I'm going to open up my studio at Quarter Moon House via web cast.
I'm recording video on painting and sketching with a brush
I'll continue to write, but I have neglected my artwork.
I can feel the dark longing from my native tongue,
crying because I have neglected
the bud of self.

Planes Causing Rains

I saw this story, and I was instantly transported to my childhood.
National Geographic News - Planes Change Weather
I thought that the planes in the sky made clouds, and thus made the rain.  What was I supposed to think? With the vaporous jet stream pouring out of the back... it would stay long after the plane was out of sight. In my immature mind I explained that the thin stream was like a seeding. They grew into storms over time.

I may have been on to something... I must've been some kind of untapped child prodigy. hmph.

Remembering Winter Before Summer Solstice

Sometimes I just need to compare... to re-mind myself.
I could complain about the heat and storms.
Or... I could take myself back to this last long and bitter winter.

Extremes
We are on the cusp of the Solstice.

Stop and re-member.
Relish in the extremes.

Designer

Playing with Blogger's new design feature.

It should be easy, but it bogs down. Maybe it's just my laptop, but I don't think so.

Too slick = slow as syrup in January.

It must have known I was flirting with going back to WP (shh) because I was getting ready to export everything over there when I saw the new digs. It's all I really wanted anyway....
New template choices but the same easy and familiar structure.

It's kept me playing here anyway.
